About the fiber network in Demopolis.
The fiber under Demopolis is an open-access network. One company builds and maintains the glass, and independent providers compete to sell the internet service that runs over it.
The network is mStreet Alabama, a $230 million privately financed build running more than 300 miles across west-central Alabama, headquartered on Church Street in Selma. It keeps a project office in Demopolis on East Washington Street, and Demopolis was the first city whose mayor signed on to the project. The city itself was founded by French settlers in 1817 on the bluff where the Black Warrior River meets the Tombigbee, and it sits on both US 43 and US 80.
mStreet Alabama builds and runs the network. It does not sell internet service directly.
A compact footprint.
Demopolis packs more than 700 ready-for-service addresses into just 63 named streets. That is around a dozen addresses per street, and it is the single most useful thing to know about the build here. Very little is spread thin.
Hilltop Circle and Rainbow Circle carry the most addresses on the list, followed by East Pettus Street, Elmwood Drive, Greenwood Circle, Maria Avenue, Hackberry Lane, Powe Road and the 1st Avenue blocks, plus the US Highway 80 West frontage and County Roads 19 and 21 heading out of town.
Density is also why the coverage target here is high. The network is scoped to pass at least 90 percent of premises here, five points higher than the target for Selma, because reaching the ninetieth home out of a hundred costs far less when the houses are close together.
Demopolis is the largest city in Marengo County, though it is not the county seat. That is Linden, 16 miles south on US 43, which is live on this network and has its own page. Gallion, east of town off US 80, is live as well.

Is my Demopolis address ready?
There are more than 700 ready-for-service addresses across 63 Demopolis streets, and the build here is scoped to reach at least 90 percent of premises in the city, five points above the target for Selma. Do you serve Linden, Gallion and the rest of Marengo County?
Yes, in the parts the network has reached. Linden, the county seat, is 16 miles south on US 43 and is live with its own page. Gallion is live too. The wider Marengo County build takes in the communities between them, so put any address in the same way and you will get a straight answer.
Does the network reach the roads outside the city limits?
In part. The ready-for-service list includes the US Highway 80 West frontage and County Roads 19 and 21 heading out of town, alongside the city streets. Whether a specific address outside the limits is on it depends on the road, so check it rather than assume either way.
Is this real fiber?
Yes. Glass all the way to your house, with upload speeds that match your download speeds. Cable cannot say that.
How does this compare to what I pay now for cable?

What is an open-access network?
One fiber network, built and maintained by one company, open to independent providers who compete for your business on it. mStreet Alabama builds and runs the glass. Intellipop delivers your internet over it. You get local infrastructure and a provider that has to keep earning you. That is the whole point.
Is Yellowhammer the same as mStreet Alabama?
Yes. Yellowhammer Networks, LLC was renamed mStreet Alabama in June 2025, when its owner Meridiam rebranded the company. Same fiber, same crews, same network. So the build that has been going in across west Alabama since 2024 is the same network you would be connecting to today, whichever name you heard first.
Who is the internet provider on mStreet Alabama?
Intellipop. mStreet Alabama builds and runs the network but does not sell internet service directly, so the plan, the bill and the support all come from us. 1 Gig is $69 a month, symmetrical, with no contract, and a rate you lock in for 2+ years.
Do I need a contract?
No. If the service stops being worth it, you cancel, and there is no fee to leave. That is the arrangement.
Will my price go up?
Your rate is locked for 2+ years. It is built on a wholesale fee we pay the network operator for every home on the network, and it moves only if that fee moves. In that case you get the amount and the date as soon as we do, and the pass-through is dollar for dollar. There is no other way for your bill to change.
What equipment do I need?
Your install includes the fiber modem. For WiFi, add Managed WiFi for $12.95 a month and we will send the right router for your plan and your house, or bring your own and we will help you pick one.
What if I am in an apartment, or I need service for my business?

Who does the install?
The install is the part the network operator and its fiber crews handle. Your part is asking for a day and a window when you order. Our part is everything else: your account, your bill, support, and the follow-up that confirms the day the crew comes.
