About the fiber network in Linden.
The fiber under Linden is an open-access network. One company builds and maintains the glass, and independent providers compete to sell the internet service that runs over it.
The network is mStreet Alabama, a $230 million privately financed build running more than 300 miles across west-central Alabama, headquartered on Church Street in Selma with a data center at Selma University. Linden is one of the Marengo County towns named in the build, alongside Demopolis, and the communities on the US 43 corridor between the two are inside the same footprint.
mStreet Alabama builds and runs the network. It does not sell internet service directly.
One highway, 53 streets, and County Road 44.
Linden is one of the smallest towns by area on this network. More than 400 ready-for-service addresses sit inside 53 named streets, mostly in the 36748 ZIP with a small number in 36742 out toward Gallion. Linden is only about 3.6 square miles and almost everything sits within reach of the highway.
US Highway 43 runs through the middle of town, and Alabama 69 and Alabama 28 meet it there. County Road 44 carries the most addresses on the list, then West Cahaba Avenue, Ford Street, Gardner Street, Lucas Street, Martin Luther King Drive, Adams Drive, North Main Street, Pandorea Drive, East Cahaba Avenue and Marlowe Lane.
Linden is the county seat of Marengo County even though Demopolis, 16 miles north on the same highway, is the larger city. Both are live on this network and both have their own page, and Gallion addresses along US 43 and Alabama 69 between the two are live too.
The town has been renamed more than once. It was Screamersville before 1818, then the Town of Marengo when it became county seat in 1819, then Hohenlinden in 1823 after the French settlers who came here, and eventually just Linden.

What is an open-access network?
One fiber network, built and maintained by one company, open to independent providers who compete for your business on it. mStreet Alabama builds and runs the glass. Intellipop delivers your internet over it. You get local infrastructure and a provider that has to keep earning you. That is the whole point.
Is Yellowhammer the same as mStreet Alabama?
Yes. Yellowhammer Networks, LLC was renamed mStreet Alabama in June 2025, when its owner Meridiam rebranded the company. Same fiber, same crews, same network. So the build that has been going in across west Alabama since 2024 is the same network you would be connecting to today, whichever name you heard first.
Who is the internet provider on mStreet Alabama?
Intellipop. mStreet Alabama builds and runs the network but does not sell internet service directly, so the plan, the bill and the support all come from us. 1 Gig is $69 a month, symmetrical, with no contract, and a rate you lock in for 2+ years.
Do I need a contract?
No. If the service stops being worth it, you cancel, and there is no fee to leave. That is the arrangement.
Will my price go up?
Not for 2+ years, and not quietly after that. Your rate sits on top of a wholesale fee we pay the network operator for every home we serve. While that fee holds, your rate holds. If it ever changes you get the amount and the date from us as soon as we have them, and your price moves by exactly that, with nothing added.
What equipment do I need?
Just the fiber modem, which is part of the install. WiFi is a separate choice: Managed WiFi at $12.95 a month with the right router for your plan and your house, or your own router if you already have one you like.
What if I am in an apartment, or I need service for my business?
Send us the address and say what you need. Multi-unit buildings and business lines depend on what is already in the building, so we would rather look at your specific address than publish a rule that turns out to be wrong for you.
Who does the install?
The crew at your door comes from the network operator, not Intellipop. What you pick when ordering, a day and either morning or afternoon, is a request, and we follow up with the confirmed date. Before and after the crew visit, your bill and support calls come to us.
